Jack Elias, CBI, P.Eng., joined the Sunbelt Business Brokers network because it was the best organization he could find to help him do what he wanted to do, which was to help owners of businesses realize the benefits of their lifetime of hard work through the sale of those businesses, and help budding entrepreneurs purchase those businesses, and so start down their own path towards financial success. And, the Sunbelt organization fit exactly with Jack’s attitude that any deal that gets done has to be right for both parties!
Jack’s successful career included an early period of blue collar work that instilled in him the hard-working values he carries to this day. He spent some time in sales, and some in middle and senior management, and then he spent 15 years as the President of one of the largest elevator companies in Canada. During that period, he acted on behalf of his company in a number of successful acquisitions, and negotiated many more. That started the love of the process, and developed the belief that the fit between the seller and the buyer has to be right, and the terms of the deal have to work for them both.
Originally from western Canada, Jack has called Toronto home for 30 years. He received an engineering degree from the University of Manitoba, and has attended numerous Leadership, Sales, Marketing, and Management courses with the International Management Development University in Lausanne, Switzerland. He has also taken the Canadian Securities Course, the Ontario Real Estate Association courses, business valuation courses from the Canadian Institute for Chartered Business Valuators, and many business brokerage courses from the International Business Brokers Association. Current accreditations include Broker status with the Real Estate Council of Ontario, and Certified Business Intermediary (CBI) status from the International Business Brokers Association. Active memberships include Professional Engineers of Ontario, the International Business Brokers Association, and the Real Estate Council of Ontario.

Phil Miller is a Business Intermediary and the office owner of Sunbelt Golden Horseshoe. Phil has direct experience as a business buyer and seller. Phil has built, grown and sold or transitioned out of daily operation of multiple businesses in industries including software and hardware technology, digital print, real estate asset management and apparel decoration. Mr. Miller enjoyed the acquisition and sale process so much, he decided to become a business intermediary to help lend his expertise to other business owners looking to exit. Working with an investor group Phil participates as both general partner and limited partner in multi-family real-estate holdings with a value in excess of $60m CAD. Prior to moving into entrepreneurship Phil worked for Microsoft Canada with responsibility for a team that managed Microsoft’s Canadian distribution channel and over $300m per year in revenue to the Microsoft Canada subsidiary. Phil has exceptional understanding of business operations, business valuation, marketing and enterprise sales. Some of the highlights of Phil’s career include the following:
• Purchased and grew niche apparel decoration business – grew business an average of 10% per year for over 8 years before transitioning out of daily management.
• Founded niche digital print business and grew revenue over 100% per year for last 3 years of active management. Transitioned leadership to partner who is achieving growth of 30%+ year over year revenue and over 50% net margins.
• Partnered with real estate investment groups to participate in building over $60m in new multi-family assets and over $3.5m and growing in purchased assets.
• Actively involved in leadership of real estate investment mentoring group. Group was founded in 2022 and is focused on mentoring mentees in evaluating, purchasing and asset managing multi-family holdings. On target to have 500+ doors under management by end of 2024.

Gregory Kells is an international entrepreneur with extensive business development, marketing, and management experience. Mr. Kells started the Canadian operations of Sunbelt Business Brokers in 2001 and in addition to opening 27 offices in Canada has developed and trained Sunbelt offices in other countries. Mr. Kells has served as president/chairman of companies in various industries including the hi-tech industry, manufacturing, business consulting, training, tourism, real estate development, business appraisal, television production and laboratories. Greg is very much a hands-on CEO and his skills and experience are a significant asset to clients. He has been a guest lecturer at Harvard, Yale, and Duke Universities as well as at numerous Canadian Colleges. He enjoys mentoring and is involved in teaching at Sunbelt and for the International Business Brokers Association. Greg is the supportive husband to contemporary artist Gayle Kells and is the proud father of three children. He is involved in his community on various levels including being Chair of the National Aquatics Institute, Chair of the Canadian Institute of Nature, Past President of the International Business Brokers Association in Canada and the founding Chair of the Canadian Institute for Conflict Resolution. He has been a candidate for leadership of Ontario and is active in numerous community organizations. He was voted Business Person of the Year in Ottawa in 2 of the past 3 years.
